The furnace….

No, it isn’t ours
They told the Goddess….
And thus retraced their steps,
Away from the furnace.

They devoured childhood,
Innocence and depravity.
Their smiles belittled…..
All vicious and hedonist profanity.

Till adulthood crept
With silent fangs….
And hissed away
All cheer and pangs.

Now they did not crave
For trees and blossoms
Or kites galore….

The Goddess ventured
To peep into their souls once more

She offered them derision,
Despise and rebellion.

They said it was theirs
To own, possess…..
To feed the raging fire
To blaze the furnace…..

Reunion….

It is the same song…

The same breath…..

That still lingers.

Words don’t come,

As they shake hands.

No smile floats….

Only a nonchalant nod.

Yes, I knew,

Who you were.

This new you

Vexes me…..her eyes say.

I know this…….

This crease on your forehead,

I know of every curve here

But this strangeness in your eyes…

This vexes me…..

She says.

Relax……his smile says.

She gives him time

To explain…….

And when he has,

She wonders of the

Mountain of memories

Embedded in her heart

Should she let it stay

Or let his presence sway

The very base of it……

He cannot wait, he says.

And she has her answer clear.

She carries the mountain once again

And drifts off,

Before he can say Good-bye.

You….

I have seen in your eyes

The softest glow ever;

The smile that resides

in the corner …….

I look at you

And I look away

I cannot hold

What you give away……

Your warmth resides

Within every beat

Your every touch

Lingers on for days…..

I have tried to pull away

But that is only

As long as you do not

Look my way……

You have been deeper

And have known

The remotest recesses

That I own…..

I have ached to touch

your hands

To pull them closer

To my bosom…..

Tell me if

I ever went to heaven

Would you kiss me

Just the same?
